I wondered if anyone can help. My husband has just found out he needs glasses, and i'd like to get some prescription Oakleys for him. I was wondering if anyone knew where the best place to get them was?
Thanks

My husband has been after these too. Sadly, if you find a shop that stocks them in the UK they'll need to send the glasses off to the USA for them to be made up. If you order the glasses in the USA they still need to send them off, so order them on day 1 of your holiday!0

Dolland & Aitchison used to do them but that was 8 years ago! Very limited choice of frames though.0

Some Vision Express stores do them, I got a pair earlier in the year. The were made in an hour aswell.0

i got mine in specsavers with 25% off the frames, Oakley Juliets, Still £300 mind and had to come from the USATrophies are like Buses, you wait 26 years.
Then 3 come along at once!!!!0 -
I have had several pairs of prescription oakleys, i got mine from Black and Lizars, 20/20 also do them. They are no more expensive than other designer glasses. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Hi there
I can recommend a local optician in Hampton, Middlesex as they do offer prescription Oakleys. They are called accuity but have a website called http://www.directsunglasses.co.uk/.
I was after prescription Oakleys but in the end bought some Rudy Project from them which have interchangeable lenses (ie prescription AND standard ones).
Worked out about £150 for the pair I wanted and two lots of lenses.
I can't remember the name of the guy in the shop (might have been Peter) but he was really helpful.
Hope this helps

ps AFAIK Oakley lenses have to be ordered from Oakley themselves thus they are expensive.0 -
Oakley lenses are done in the UK as well- from memory it is somewhere in the midlands- or was when I had my last lot of lenses done.
I have frameless Why 3's- the first lenses we non oakley and lasted about a week- the second pair were proper Oakley (and about 4 times more expensive) and are still going strong.
An Oakley authorised optician will only do 'proper' Oakley lenses.

I have two pairs from Vision Express but my brother has found out that you can get the frames themselves on the internet cheaper and then just take them to the optician and they fit the lenses for you. Unfortunatly I don't know what website he gets them from!0

Just to update (in case anyone else wants some!)
I got a pair of new prescription Minutes 2.0 from www.steptoes.co.uk, total cost £192 (20% saving) including case and postage. Ordered them last Saturday (over the phone) and they arrived on Thursday. My husband loves them (I let him try them on briefly to make sure they were prescription). They have a huge variety and 20% off all frames0 -
I wanted the wraparound style, which I was told was not made in prescription because of the shape of the lenses, it was the designs with flat lenses that were available.0
