mothers nhs pension

hi all,mum recently passed away,she had a nhs pension which was paying out about £4k a year,i know this will stop,how do i find out if a lump is payable to her estate?any help appericated.

You can contact the NHS Pension Scheme here.
Look at page 28 of this booklet, NHS Member's Guide but check on the opening introduction page that it applies to your mother's benefits, as the scheme has made changes over recent years.
If your mother had been in receipt of her pension for more than 5 years, it is unlikely that there will be a lump sum.
