in Cutting tax
I feel like I am going mad!
Months ago I sent a letter along with a P11d and P60 for 07/08 as I had over paid by just over £300.
Along with a cheque finally back they had knocked off £170 saying I owed it from 06/07 with a tax calculation showing how they reached this decision. The figures they used had no relation to me whats so ever, so I had to send off p11d and p60 for 06/07 showing car and health benefits in kind.
Tax calculation and cheque arrives today for £18 overpayment!!!!! They have calculated the tax correctly now giving the £18 but they seem to have missed that they thought I had underpaid £170 and knocked that off of what they repaid me for 07/08, hope this makes sense.
How do I get the £170 back now that they wrongly assumed I had underpaid by?? Surely there computer would have told them they had taken £170 off of me that they should not have.
I have just called to be told the blinking computers are not working again, they are never working when I have reason to call.

Hi
take copies of what you received from them, copies of what you sent, and send a letter explaining that they owe you £170.0
