Disgusting and unjustified

I did a decision in principle for a client doing a Buy to Let last week with The Mortgage Works (part of Nationwide) and the valuation fee at the time was £285.
Converting it to a Full Application today and the valuation fee has been increased to £375  .
How can the valuation fee increase of £90 be justified when the value of the property hasn't increased?
A blatant rip off.

Off with thier heads!
That said, TMW have some pretty decent products a lot of the time. Im guessing the property val would have been IRO £120k ish? In which case that is a very high fee for a basic val.
But what can you do.0 -
£150k value, but that's a big increase at the same time as a .2% increase in their 2 year Base Rate Tracker deal with a 2.5% arrangement fee.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0

Reading the title of this thread, I assumed it was going to contain news of a Robbie Williams comeback.A blatant rip off.
Agreed, that's sneaky. I thought Nationwide were generally considered to be one of the fairer institutions out there? I suppose it just goes to show, we are living in torrid times...
SKIPS STONES FOR FUDGE0 -
I think Nationwide have put all their survey fees up recently.
I knew they had on their own branded stuff, so I suppose TMW would follow.I am a Mortgage adviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
