I used to have flawless skin (bar the odd spot every 3 months or so) up until i had a Implanon implanted, my skin went crazy, spots constantly, pimples across the forehead and recently cyst's apeared.
I had the implant taken out last week and was put on cerazette but i have had 11 spots errupt around my mouth and nose in the past 2 days (i have been asked by my mum if i have been sniffing glue)
I just wanted to know what contraception you have come across that is gentle on the skin?

you have changed contraception and your body is reacting to the change, it should settle in time. i would be more worried about the more serious side effects of hormonal contraceptives.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. I used to be on Dianette, its for acne as well as a contraceptive pill and worked really well.

I'm on Cerazette, but I don't have any problems with my skin. (touch wood

I had Depo-Provera injections, great to start with, no moods, no bleeds, lovely.
However, four years on, and still evident a year after I came off it, I now have a huge 'stain' on my forehead (melasma) caused by Depo. I am trying a skin cream in a vain attempt to lessen it's darkness.

dianette is the one usually perscribed for acne - i'm now on yasmin after trying mircogynon and lo-gynon.
bear in mind that it usually takes a few weeks to adjust to being on a new pill so it may be too early to judge. the best thing to do it consult your GP and ask for their advice. different pills are suitable for different people.
i'd also suggest that any long term effects will be minimal from third generation pills and any advice on that should also come from a healthcare professional who can also be aware of any other risk factors from your lifestyle!:happyhear0 -

I take Cilest for menorhaggia, but it's also had the very welcome side effect of being good for my spots!
