So you may get your item cheaper from them if you follow their terms.
We check our prices against major retailers and websites every day so you can buy with confidence.
If you find a lower price for the same product and offer, we'll reduce our price by 110% of the difference – even up to 7 days after purchase!
This applies to prices offered by retailers within 30 miles of your local PC World store.
The product must be identical, in stock and available for immediate home delivery in one of the retailers detailed below - single unit purchases only.
This price promise applies to:
Argos, Comet, Jessops, Tesco, John Lewis, Asda, B&Q, Game Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Maplin, Staples, Toys R Us, Zavvi, Woolworths.0 -
I always do this and even got the TOMTOM 720 missprice from argos from currys using thier pricematch last christmas when I printed out the e-mail and told them it was e-mail exclusive.0

Looks like they have stopped price matching Play.com???0

Hi
How does this work, as I notice they are selling Wii games about £2 more expensive that Asda/Tesco etc.
How can you claim the pricematch ?
Thanks0 -

Yep, and amazon - not surprising as a £7.99 memory card on amazon or play is about £29.99 @ pc world!
frankfish - to use the pricematch just take a printout of the pricematch policy, and also a print out of the competitors price along to your local pc world and they will match it instore - otherwise you can phone pcworld and they will delivery it - however they will then take the competitors delivery charge in to account.
An example of how it works with my memory card example at the start of this post is -
£29.99 - £7.99 = £22.00 the difference
10% x £22.00 = £2.20, Thus the pricematch price is -
£7.99 - £2.20 = £5.79

I guess the link points to a list of stores that have prices well above the average. Unfortunately, PCWorld don't seem to want to price match with the more competitive outlets.
That's just my opinion, having spent a while searching for a product that I would buy at PCWorld today but having found that it's twice as expensive there, and at any shop that the promise applies to, than just about any other store on the Web. I'll have to wait for delivery on Tuesday I suppose.0 -

15 minutes on the phone, price match not honoured because Tesco take 7 days to deliver and PC world would take 3-4!!
I guess its true, they'll do ANYTHING to avoid actually matching a price.
I'd buy it from Tesco but the verified by visa isn't working so I can't buy it there either. :mad:0 -
Think PC World must have been getting hammered by people price matching things from play.com and Amazon seing that they have removed them retailers from their price promise.
I managed to price match a few things from using both of them and the main ones where SD cards which were £5.99 from play.com and Amazon and PC World had them marked up at £29.99.
Just shows you how much they over price items as most people would not bother price matching items but I use to do it for fun as they looked ever so gutted when you price matched an item then you point out they have to give you 10% of the difference as most people would just match the price0
