Computerised database for a new organisation

I am looking for something that will allow me to have a database that has several categories (such as first name, forename, address, city, country, postcode, date joined, other info etc etc) and is sortable by such categories. In addition, it needs to be linked to the email category, and allow bulk emails to be sent to different lists within the database (ie. supporters, press etc), so the database would need also to be able to be separated into several different categories. Yahoo will only allow me to send fifty emails at a time, if that. This is a nightmare! By looking for a database like the above, I am also saving myself the time of having two separate lists - one for email and one for addresses - that I constantly have to cross reference. Of course, it would also need to recognise that not all of my contacts will have email addresses when I send to a list. I cannot believe that I can't find anything like this! Can you help??
