Hi Jackie
I have this with my countertops. I've found a spray with a solution of stardrops and water and a polish with a tea towel bring it up lovelyit's about 10% stardrops in the water I'd say...

I must admit when I first saw the high gloss work tops and stuff I thought they looked nice but I cant imagine how much hard work they must be to keep looking nice.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090

Buy a squeegee... they work wonderfully.. a quick flip over and they are as shiny as new.. Which one do you have? I REALLY wanted the black glittery one.. but hubby was mean and woudn't let me..
No work and no elbow grease!! And I am the queen of laziness!
Don't every use anything scratchy or any bleach.
Stardops is ok but really you only need hot water and evrything slips straight off.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hi, ME TOO!!! mine is black and shiney from b&q, had it in a week now and was so disappointed when I first wiped it over and saw how it smeared, have now settled for wiping it over with hot water and detergent and then giving it a buff up with kitchen roll - then not worrying about it for the rest of the day!! caught my husband cutting bread on it without a chopping board, don't think he'll do it again, even the dog went a hid when I shouted at him!  :mad:Slightly bitter0 -
hi all i have the black shiny one from b&q it was fitted yesterday and the fitter told me it would be a nightmare!!!!
So ive got myself 2 glass protector thingys from THE RANGE for cutting etc and ive got some stardrops and a microfibre cloth and yes im using my dishcloth to buff it uo:D0 -
Hiya,
Re: microfibre cloths and high gloss units my advice would be NO! I love the cloths to bits but discovered much to my annoyance shortly after having cream high gloss units fitted recently that the cloths are so good at picking up dust and dirt particles in their fibres that they can actually scratch... as I can know see on one of our units. Maybe if the cloth was only ever, ever used on the cupboards and washed separately from other items it wouldn't collect scratchy little bits of 'stuff' but I'm not convinced. Maybe dusting the worktop first with something soft and then using a 'virgin' microfibre cloth would be ok. Just wanted to post this is as I'd hate for you to scratchy your lovely new kitchen like I did mine! :-) Cheers, Hay x0 -
I f you are going to use Microfibre cloths use the ones intended for Glass as they are not as abrasiveBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
