Alliance & Leicester, can't get thru to mortgage dept. any ideas?

i've got a query on our mortgage but i can't get through to them on 0844 800 0080! just seems a constant queue no matter what time of day i call :mad:
i've tried a few alternative nos. from saynoto0870, but when you choose the options for an existing customer, all you get is a recorded message "please redial 0870..."
any ideas?

I called them this morning at around 9am and got through straight away.
The number I called was: 0844 8000 0880
