Iy you have a Boots near you they have some great girlie bubblebaths like Disney Belle etc for £5 or Dora the Explorer for the little one.As they are on 3 for 2 you could buy another giift to share between them like some choccies. They also have some good little craft type stuff on 3 for 2 .Crayola mess free magic painting £5.99 or saw the Disney princess aqua draw mini mats which are great if you can get them £5.Also first sewing kit £5.99.
Jigsaws are another thing my girls like. Morrisons had some nice Disney ones fro the 5 year old buy one get one free £2.99 also some girlie craft stuff at around £3/£4. They also had the magic painting mess free set.
5 year old if she is anything like mine might like a nice little girlie gift bag with some little bits of makeup or hair bobbles.
Tesco have great little girlie bits like lipgloss etc at £1.
Try the place that have 3 for 2 as you will definately get more for your money.
Woolies also have some good craft stuff at £5 or less. If the little ones is into Tv characters like Fifi Flowertot again Boots had them.
Don't know if you have a Disney store near you I always pick up lots of little bits under £5 if they have a sale on. My girls are 8,5,3 and they are girly girls who like makeup, bubble baths and Disney princesses.
    How that helps a little.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!

    Thank you denise38.
I'm not used to buying for girls and we have a family agreed amount to spend so it makes it more difficult.

BHS have their little xmas stockings reduced to £1.20 and you could fill them with or a little gift bag (23p tesco):-

a story tape and book - approx £1.99 in the works or similar shop
a pair of sox - can buy a multi pack and split,
hair accessories such as baubles and clasps - again you can split a pack
mini bottle of perfume (6 for £1.99 from body care but semi chem / savers do similar)
mini bottle of bubble bath (split a little set)
    nail varnish (split a set)
a sweetie / mini pringles tube / mini choc santa's / coins (BOGOF 89p superdrug)
    keyring for their bags
cheap plastic jewellery such as rings / bracelets etc etc
    mini soaps / bubblebath pearls
mini teddy £1.49 Woolworths xmas collection (some nice larger ones £4.99) - travel games reduced to £1.59 each in Woolies too the other day in Dundee such as ludo, battleships and a couple of others - you could get one of those and a selection box or i find tubes of pringles go down well instead of sweeties and they are 2 for £1.60 in asda just now.
personalised mugs / bankies always go down well too - but if their names are unusually spelled maybe a paint your own set would be good - messy but fun and can be kept for blackmail purposes later on!

All this stuff can can be picked up realively cheaply and the stocking can be reused next year.

Alternatively if you dont want to use a stocking / gift bag, buy a packet of cheap xmas crackers such as asda smart price for 88p and open it up carefully and slip the stuff inside that. I did that for my kids nursery teachers when they were little and filled them with some of the above just for a change / surprise and it went down very well.

By getting them loads of little things it makes it fun to open as they wonder what they are getting next. You can do a similar idea with arts and crafts things as the Stationery Shop if you have one close buy has lots of 3 for 2 items that you can split - some brilliant little sets for £1.69 that kids of that age will love. This and a cheap packet of printer paper will keep them amused for hours - dont forget the blue tac for parents to stick their art work on the kitchen door, hall walls, living room roof etc etc etc.

hope this helps (ps have two nieces aged 20 and 18 now and a great niece aged 9monts and 3 boys of my own so had great fun buying for my nieces)

  • Hi there

Obviously as the budget is quite tight the best place i could suggest would be poundland. They have lots of bits and pieces including girly things like pink flashing wands, plastic tiaras etc theres too much variety to list individually but im sure you get the idea. They also sell packs of party items such as blowouts etc. These would be ideal to split.

Bubbles are always an excellent idea, my niece loves them, they provide hours of fun, not sure if poundland do them but all markets seem to sell at least packs of 5. That way when one bottle runs out the fun wont end.

If you want to get little cheap bits of jewellery you can pick up bits and pieces starting at 25p in internacionale. They also have a wide variety of hair accessories. And if you want to make things interesting you could add hair glitter spray (only under adult supervision of course!)

Just a last thought matalan has a really good half price sale on and that includes their section on little girl items.

    Hope that helps.
