Hope someone can help. Over a year ago my daughter spilt some apple juice on her beautiful cream bedroom carpet. Unfortuntely this was left to dry in. Also our then puppy decided to urinate on same spot. Have tried vinegar and washing up liquid. And foam carpet cleaners. Nothing. Would really like to get rid of this stain as the carpet cost a lot otherwise am considering getting a rug to cover it up. Any advice?

try stardrops
quote from star drops thread
"At the risk of repeating myself, I have used 30 mls Stardrops and 2 ounces of Soda Crystals in my Whites wash at 40deg and they came up lovely and bright! (and I am very fussy about my whites!!)
I also found an empty Fairy Foam bottle ( the stuff that you are supposed to use on baked on grease) I washed out the bottle and added 30 mls of Stardrops and topped with water, then gave it a gentle shake.........
I have already used this lovely amost dry foaming mix to spot clean my carpet and some items of clothing, its pretty good IMO".:hello: :j0 -
Thanks for that fishing girl. Will try and get some tomorrow. Does it have instructional use for carpets on it or is there a certain way to apply it?fishing-girl wrote: »try stardrops

If you know anyone with a steam cleaner, I would borrow one and use that!
We have one and gets most things out no problem. (dog wee will smell a bit though...) and is just water - nothing else needed. May need a couple of goes if very old stain though.
If you can afford it then would recommend buying one as is very good for all household cleaning - and with pet (kills fleas, egg, dustmites etc) keeps everything smelling fresh too if you use it regularly.
The steam and vac combination one is best - don't have to faff about with cloths (have had both)0 -
I would use stardrops too.
It may be worth noting that if your carpet is wool you should never use a steam cleaner because it will shrink the carpet!
My husband cleans carpets professionally and the last bit comes from him xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
