  • I know its not under £10 but I absolutely love YSL false lash effect mascara and I really think its worth the few quid more to get a great mascara which actually gives amazing results. I have spent tons on trying all sorts of mascaras in the past and none of them have compared to YSL, so I am happy to spend the bit more and know that I wouldn't of wasted my money on a cheaper one that actually isn't that great. The cheapest place I have found it is Lapreya.com which is 13.50 with free delivery, or you may be able to get it off ebay a little cheaper.

I think it's worth mentioning something that shocked me the other day. I was sat outside Boots, looking at the poster in the window. A mascara ad. In tiny letters was the note that 'model is wearing lash augmentation to give even line' or somesuch.

A MASCARA AD WITH THE MODEL WEARING FALSIES

Same in Supadrug window too. Please don't be conned by the adverts, what you are after may not come cheap and may require 'augmentation' after all.

ALL mascara ads usually say "filmed with lash inserts" after companies were criticised for misleading people.

Kinda illustrates my point. Maybe inserts are necessary.

It depends how many lashes you have already!!!

I don't need anymore, but mascara companies got hammered for implying that their mascara alone could create the looks they advertise ;)

Haven't you noticed that shampoo and hair dye adverts state "styled with natural hair extensions"?

OP wants that effect. Maybe that's what she needs ;)

No, I haven't noticed shampoo ads mention extentions, I don't watch tv much. Think that's why I was shocked at false lashes being used in mascara ads.

Personally I have lashes that touch my glasses without mascara and hair I could sit on if I didn't keep up with the trimming every month. Maybe that's why I haven't kept up with the deceptions perpetrated on our subconcious minds

    Hi,
I love, just love Max Factor 2000 calories and Masterpiece Max. It is the best mascara ever.
I got recently L'ancome as a present and the mascara is absolutely nothing special - glad I didn't spend the money for it. I also bought the latest L'Oreal and I am not impressed - preffered the previous one.
Anyway, as I run out of Max Factor and was searching for even better one without any success, I am going to Boots this Saturday to buy Max Factor again.

I wouldn't use anything other than MAx Factor 200 Calorie. It's brilliant. When i am REALLY going out though....false eylashes are the way to go .

I have literally been trying since age 10 to get the perfect mascara and a couple of weeks ago I found it.
I'm afraid it's not under £10 but Dior Black Out is incredible. It is the only mascara I have ever had that has made my eyelashes black enough and thick enough for my liking (I am a mascara addict and have tried all the others including 2000 calorie etc).
I wear false ones on a night out. No one can ever tell they are fake and they make my eyes look really awake. I am brunette so if you are fairer then they do some called "natural". I use Naturalites from boots, but the glamorous version.
I don't need mascara when I have fake ones on.
