  • Hi, I'm pretty sure most hair dyes/bleaches can only lift so much colour out of your hair. I'm dark brown and did it once with a super duper bleaching kit, then a blonding dye and it was still ginger. My hairdresser has put highlights in before but has admitted they can only lift my hair so much. A girl I used to work with had dark brown hair naturally but it took her about 2 years of bleaching it blonde she reckoned for it to actually be light enough!

Good luck though, perhaps a salon supplier shop like Sally's would be able to sell you industrial strength stuff or at least give you advice. Hope this has helped a wee bit, Kimbers

  • I just use this lightener every 6 weeks

I don't bother with the toner, I love the brash white blonde the lightner leaves.

If you want that dramatic change without it going wrong it would be best to go to a hairdresser.

How about 'cosmic blue' on dark hair?

  • Hi, The very best bleach available in the shops is 'Jerome' It comes in 20vol and 40vol, you will need the 40 as it is for dark hair. You will need to buy a bottle of the peroxide @ £1.49 and also a packet of the powder. The powder comes in a pack of 3 and costs £3.49p. Both are available from Superdrug. I use this all of the time on my dark brown hair and I am brilliant blonde in 40 minutes. Hope this helps.
