The amount you have available for debt repayment (before the current debt repayments are added on!) is probably enough for you to qualify for a Debt Management Plan. Consider speaking to someone at CCCS or Payplan and see what they advise. You certainly can't carry on the way you are, even if you do cut a tenner here and there from your SOA. It may be the best option.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

would ur husband think of a job change? tbh he doesnt seem to earn more than a sales assistant in a store would? If he had a day time job, then one or both of u could have part time evening jobs (working out who works what days so somebody is always with ur son)0

Have you reviewed what benefits you are able to get aswell? Tax credits etc.
I was ill the first few nights when i realised the poop i was in, it really does seem gloomy!
But looking on here, the advice and the great characters... things will soon look up.
Once i fully know where i am i am getting rid of the rubbish like sky (loved the idea of keeping the box as a freeview box though - gives you some choice)
I will be doing a check of everything i spend this week already gone through the utilities and Npowe came out on top with a £15.00 cash back saving me about 250 a year (Hate Npower - crap customer service, but money talks!).
Hopefully things will also turn around for you, it appears there are a lot of us in the same position of various amounts of debt.
Wishing you all the best xx:EasterBun Sanity, Something I look forward to having :spam:

Ok, could you consider a cheaper or thriftier car, or a job closer to home?
The apr's are important, especially if there is an opportunity to shift debt about to a lower apr card.
Life assurance might seem essential, but the reality is atm you can't afford it. As has already been suggested the appliance cover should be cancelled.
I would not cancel your life insurance!!!!!!!! You would be stuffed if something happened (god forbid!) Whilst theoretically you cannot afford it, you can't afford to be without it! You have a child and therefore it is essential that you could provide in the event of something happening to you or your partner.0 -
agree with above do not cancel your life insurance!!!!
