Default Notice on credit file

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum to post on, but hopefully someone can help !!

I am slowly getting myself straight after years of burying my head in the sand. I have 3 defaults on my credit file - 2 of which I was fully aware of and acknowledge but there is a 3rd from Hillsden Securites in respect of a debt from Citicard.

I never received a default in respect of this account, so recently asked the company to send me a copy of the notice. A few days ago, I got a default notice from them but its not a copy, just something they have typed up with the original date of 2006 on it (I have moved house since the notice was supposedly sent but the letter they just sent has my new address on it)
I called them up stating it was a copy I want - they cant send one and said they couldnt help any further - any ideas please ??

I think the way to do this properly is to do a subject access request (SAR - cost £10) so that they must send you all the information they hold on you including documentation and transaction details. This should include a copy of the default notice.

If there is no default notice then the default on your credit file should be removed - the only drawback to this is that although they may remove it, the may also just issue a new default notice and the details go straight back on your file.

Was this for a creditcard or loan? If so then you should also receive a copy of your credit agreement. If it does not have all the prescribed terms, then you can argue that this is unenforcable and that you remove any permission to pass your details on to a 3rd party (the credit reference agencies). This should then mean that a new default notice cannot be issued if the debt is unenforcable.
