My Dad is 80 years old, frail and unwell, and anxious and worked for the BBBs all his life and has a Bradford & Bingley pension. He has just received a letter that has made him even more anxious about 'possible threats - "if any" to his pension'. Is his pension safe - what threats are they. He is too old and anxious to be scared about this!!! Can I reassure him all is OK?

There are no threats to his pension.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Thanks so much - it just isn't right to be so worried at 80! Especially when he is so very sad at losing the company he worked for all his life - from Bradford Equitable.....and so on to BBBs.0

I'd be very interested (from a professional capacity) to know precisely what these 'possible threats - if any' were, as well as who they have come from.
Can you be more specific? (PM me if you don't want to go public)

We have just had a letter from them confirming that everything is going to be as it was. Many thanks0
