Rent out your spare room/sofa by the night

A friend of mine has been doing this and it's working pretty well. I'm not up for having a permanent lodger/flatmate, but I do have a spare room in Clapham, London, and could probably get £50 a night for it now and again (local holiday in is £140). He's advertising it on Gumtree or craig's list I think but Crashpadder.com's free to list on too.
Every little helps!

My BF's cousin and friends from Oz came over and they did this. Through some website, I can't think of the name, spend a couple of nights on someone's sofa in Amsterdam to go there on the cheap.
Not sure i'd wanna do it or want anyone on my sofa. My guess is that you just keep your fingers crossed that they are well behaved.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j
