Cheapest Playstation 3 with MGS 4 and possibly little big planet?

Hello everyone,

First post here, so apologies if it's in the wrong section.

I'm thinking of buying a PS3 with MGS4 and was wondering if anyone knew the cheapest place I could get one, i've done some research and have come up with the following results:

On the high st - Gamestation £320 for 80gb PS3 and MGS4
On te web - Gamplay.co.uk £310 for the same

I would prefer to get it off the high street as it'll be easier to take back should anything go wrong.

To add a curveball into the equation, I also quite fancy getting LittleBigPlanet too, and i've noticed on amazon and play they're doing bundles for the ps3 plus LBP for £300, now I was wondering if anyone knew if this was to become a standard Sony bundle that I could pick upt from either Game or Gamestation?

Finally, does anyone know if Sony are planning on dropping the price of the PS3 at any point soon? I know they've said no price cut this year, but with the 360's recent drops, you never know.

Hiya Gav. I have just purchased a PS3 8ogb from Game (Not Gamestation) the free game they had was FIFA which I didnt want, so I sold it back to them and ended up paying 299.99 which I think was good value considering the extra 20 gb. You have to try Amazon, John Lewis( they do a match price)
Dont worry too much if anything goes wrong, it is highly unlikely , in that event Sony are the best, they will replace it usually next day!
As for LBP, you are aware that this has been put back for release due to minorities maybe getting upset by 2 words in the dialogue, cant guarantee it will out for Xmas!
MSG4 has not had a good review either, much disappointment on the forums, much better value is COD triple pack 9. 99 from Game, and they are excellent games and play on PS3 format.

cheers fir the reply. I heard about LBP getting pushed back because of the lyrics in one of the songs. A ll a little bit PC gone ovverboa, especially when you consider the performer of the song in question has been quoted as saying it's quite normal to sing parts of the Qur'an, spreading the word of mohammed etc.

I believe that Sony have now set the release date as November 5th, so should be out for xmas, not that it matters if it is or not to me.

As far as MGS4 goes, it was generally well recieved, but criticised for the overly long cutscenes. I've played COD to death on my 360, so i'll give that a miss, still, good price though.

Hi, not too sure with MGS4 prices, however in regards to LBP becoming bundled to the PS3, I think it is likely probably after Christmas or Seasonal Holiday.

Playstation 3 80BG + Little Big Planet is also at Play.com for £299 inc delivery! I contacted game.co.uk last week to ask if they would be doing a similar package and was told basically " computer says no ".

I have the 80gb ps3 and mgs4 and can highly recommend it. Last time I was in gamestation they had some good deals on 2nd hand copies- iirc it was in the 2-for-£40 offer section, which would get you off to a good start- you can mix and match with xbox and wii games in the same deal too. I'm certain I read there is a LBP bundle coming out, so if you can wait the 2 weeks that'd probably be the best value option.

Ok I would say you are best off finding the best deal whether that be online or in a shop as if you get any problems with it you will have to send it off to Sony anyway so that makes buying it from a shop pointless. If you shop about online you can get console only deals for around the £250ish mark now albeit usually for the 40GB version.
