First time buyer on maternity leave... help!

Hello!
I am due to start maternity leave next May and plan on taking the paid maternity leave - which is nine months. Ideally, because of the current state of the housing market, we would like to buy a house at the last possible minute before I have to hand in my notice (ie: 7 or so months into my maternity leave - late autumn of 2009). The question is, whist I am on maternity leave will I qualify for a mortgage? I have heard of some mortgages where they have wanted to see your last 3 months pay slips... and obviously mine will not reflect my wage but my maternity pay.
Help! All thoughts and advice very gratefully received.

hi, we just remortgaged and I am on maternity leave. Nationwide - and assume most other lenders are the same - used my usual non-mat leave salary.
But I had to provide them with my last full payslip pre mat pay, my last salary increase letter, a letter from me confirming I intended to go back to work and a letter from my employer confirming that I had indicated to them I was going back to work plus an employer's reference confirming my salary. So they wanted lots of evidence of my usual salary and that I was planning on going back.0
