Credit reference file.

in short...i have had a mobile phone form 02 online for over 2 years..never had an issue..e statemtns were sent to an old email address but i never had a need to view them as my direct debit was set so on i went..very recently i setup new bank details and moved home..i tried to change this with 02 after one of my bills couldnt be collected as there was no funds in my account...they sent me a letter informing me it was in my ex partners name...i presume when we registered her some years ago its somehow crossed over? regardless the bill was agaisnt my previous address and my bankk details..she has been informed by 02 that she will get a black mark on her credit file as the bill has not been paid..can you please advise if this is the case?? it is simply her name but my personal details? how could they conduct a valid credit search on this basis?? and should the mark not be against me?

thanks

I would write to them requesting a copy of the airtime agreement. This should clarify who's debt it as and also if they can enforce the debt. If the agreement is in you ex's name then she is still liable for the debt. You will need to write to them to clarify this and possibly set up a repayment plan to pay what's owed.
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

hi george and thanks for ur response...the debt is mine in that ive always paid it and will continue too through a payment plan to clear it fully...the confusion for me is her name on it but my details ? we have wrote a letter previously trying to chnage the name but they were adamant it couldnt be done>?? ill ask for a copy of the airtime agreement as you suggest and go frm there..the other concern is my ex partner is extremely unhappy about the fact that she has been told it will go against her name? although i presume the info in the airtime agreement will clarify this??

    thanks
