They are planning on giving kids finance lessons...it can't do any harm to make children more aware can it!

I hope its a long term thing, not just while the current issues are ongoing. Your right it can't do any harm, its shocking how little knowledge some people have of basic finance & monetary matters.0

It would be even better if it was run alongside basic cooking skills so youngsters could see how to make their money streeetch even further.
A lot of children seem amazed when they see that its possible to eat a chicken that doesn't come with 'nuggets' or fish without 'fingers'0 -
DD nearly 15 came home the other day desperate to open a certain savings account- because it was 3.75!!??
Ah! But the interest was paid monthly so by the end of the year she would be vastly in profit!!
Her maths teacher spent an entire lesson on this and she is loathe to believe I could be right. I did point out that he may have got the dubious maths right but I have the common sense right!
Considered writing to the teacher or phoning but eventually decided it was worth giving her a few quid to set up the savings account and learn by bitter experience!!!
Bet good money the teacher does not know to get a R85 so as not to pay tax!!! Is it really mean to let her have her head or is it a valuable learning experience?"This site is addictive!"
