I searched for myself in the search field and I found this diary!

So I thought I would update it!

Boyf and I managed to buy our house this year. We managed to get together a £20,000 deposit and we moved into our new place in January :)

As for the entertainment side of things, I have stopped going out every week and now only go out once every 2 weeks and I try to get people to come over to ours and they can stay over as we have a spare room.

I definitley say no to nights out more than I say yes! In fact, I was due to go out tonight but I cancelled saying I couldnt make it.

Gosh when I read this I realised how scatty I used to be, I'm much more grown up now LOL!

I'm going to ressurect this diary as I got engaged last month and we are now saving for the wedding!!

Will start this again from tomorrow morning.

I'm not debt free and nor am I at goal weight which I said I would be in this diary two years ago!

I've got £3883.36 on a 0% credit card till the end of the year.

I also pay £56.12 a month till next June for the
mattress we brought. That's on 0%.

And finally £797.29 on the Homebase card which is on a buy now pay in 6 months deal which ends 30th August.

I guess I'm back to pay off the debts (and not get into anymore!) but also get back to DFW lifestyle in order to save towards the wedding. No date is set but may as well start now.

    Today's DFW things are:

Drunk my morning coffee from the free machine at work
Had lunch brought it from home – ham and cheese bagel and soup and a yoghurt.

According to my budget spreadsheet we have £614 left till I get paid next Friday. Will try to keep as much of this to pay off the Homebase card and will pay the remainder out of next month's pay – silly me, I should have saved enough this month and not eaten into next month!

    Morning,

Yesterday went well, first no spend day of part 2 of my MSE journey!

Today is my last day of work before a week off – sooooo looking forward to it. Going to try and get the wedding booked. I usually buy a jar of coffee from M&S and make myself a coffee every morning. This ran out on Wednesday so I've brought in a few teabags from home to save me buying coffee from Starbucks thinking 'I've only got one day left, might as well treat myself and buy a jar when I get back from holidays'!

Foodwise, I have a team lunch in the canteen so will choose the cheapest option. Annoyed cause I wanted another NSD! Brought in a cereal bar and a yoghurt though to snack on.

Dinner is toad in the hole and veg using up the food we have in the fridge.

I also turned down a night out drinking tonight!

I do hope we're all gonna hear about a good old MSE wedding! I don't want any tales of £thousands spent on wedding dresses or a cake from some exclusive bakery at a cost that would feed a Third World country for a year

Seriously though, congrats on the wedding plans, as for the weight loss, you've got an incentive now ;)

Good luck and keep us posted with your progress, it's always really helpful to hear how people cope with the DFW lifestyle.
ps, toad in the hole.....yum!!! :D

I was really good at lunchtime and had beans on toast – only £1.23!

I need to buy some milk on the way home as we've ran out.

Also, it's my brothers 21st birthday and he wanted the new Davidoff aftershave. That's £34 I didn't really want to spend. Although I think I got off lightly as my sister says she has spent £90 on him!

It's my nieces birthday on Tuesday and I brought her an outfit from the sale in GAP and a toy from John Lewis but I've just returned the toy so that saves me £6. The outfit is nice enough to give as a present.

Tomorrow I'm going to a friend's. I booked the train tickets earlier this week so it cost me £11.25 instead of the usual £30. I'll have a big lunch before I go and take a book so I won't need to buy any snacks or a magazine.

Sunday I'm taking back an outfit I brought for my friends baby to Mothercare. Saves me another £7. I've already spent £12 on a present which is enough.

I wonder if I can have a no spend weekend!?

I managed to have a great weekend moneywise - I only spent a fiver all weekend :)

Today I spent £4 on a return train journey ticket to go and try on wedding dresses.

A big Tesco shop came today which should keep us in food for a while. I was trying to stretch out the food for longer but we ran out of tinned tomatoes, rice, fruit and potatoes!
