I've been challenged to make the bread from this blog post
http://hollyklein.blogspot.com/2008/06/morning-mummy_26.html
but I can't see how you could make the strips of mummy. Suggestions anyone?
I've got a Panasonic so can set dough on there

I think I see how you do it - you slit outwards on the oval so that you get horizontal slices in the oval to each side (maybe 1/3rd depth) all the way down the length apart from a bit at the top for the head then nutella down the middle unslit 3rd then wrap the slices over to get the effect. Its a nice idea.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

I think,it goes like this ---
make oblongs of dough
spread nuttella along the middle of the length
make dagonal slits along either side
fold each one to the center overlaping slightlyIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

So I tried making them last night (top tip, don't start the dough at 8pm :rotfl:)
Put normal white roll dough in the Panasonic and then shaped them into round logs, split the sides with a knife and then cut thin wedges of the top.
I thought I would put the nutella on top before baking (ooopppsssssss) and the rolls were far too big.
They taste fine. they just look horrendous. Want to have another go but need to eat up last night's disaster first.0 -
I made these but they didn't work out - tasted scrumptious though and were a hit with the family:j! All my nutella just boiled away (scraped it off the baking sheet and ate it separately though - waste not etc...:D)
So has anyone been successful? When do you put the nutella 'faces' on, afterwards when they're cool, and if so how do you keep the wrap open for the face?
Daughter loved them and said they would be great at Christmas as they look like baby Jesus.

Failure here too. me and DD1 had a go and couldn't get the "bandages" thin enough. Plus we were doing them for school cake sale and halfway through she remembered the no nuts rule! So we switched to jam and that was even worse. We managed to eat up our mistake though!0
