Advice On A Matter With Dfh

I HAVE POSTED THIS ON ANOTHER THREAD ALREADY BUT FEEL THAT AS IT'S AN OLD THREAD IT MAY NOT GET TOO MANY VIEWS AND WAS HOPING FOR SOME ADVICE ON MY SITUATION!

I recently joined DFH and was told over the phone that my first payment was an administration fee and that the following payments would go to my creditors minus their fee! it was only after joining and paying my second instalment that i began to doubt them as my creditors had said they had recieved no contact at all from DFH! DFH had told me they had sent a first and second letter to my creditors and when i challenged them about what i had been told they replied that they would say that as and i quote "they dont want you to be in a debt management plan, and they are lying" i explained that i know one of the people who would deal with my banks debt management personally and through my work and i have no reason to distrust them!
I then asked for my money to be returned to me minus the first instalment and percentage as payplan are managing my case now, and was told that my SECOND MONTH WAS ALSO ADMIN FEES! I told him i had a copy of my terms and agreement and that it stated that only the 1st month was fees (i didnt have a copy but was bluffing) he came back to be after putting me on hold stating to send in my copy and if so they will refund me! I know it is my own stupid fault for not reading terms and conditions and binning them i was however so relieved to get what i thought was good help with my debt!
I was wondering if i have any comeback on this as DFH have taken £444 of my money and done nothing for me and when i explained that i was moving to payplan ( a no fees company) i was told over the phone numerous times that i would be better to stick with DFH as payplan are not looking to help me but only to help my creditors!! I couldn't believe the idocy of this cretins arguement and all i wanted was my money back minus (what i see as unfair) the fees as per the first telephone conversation!

Basically as a recent customer i would advise everyone to stay clear of this company and was hoping for advice as to whether or not i have a legal leg to stand on regarding my £444??

Thak you in advance and please i dont want any testimonials as to how good they are for some people and not for others i would just like advice

Can I suggest that you speka to trading standards, the office nearest their address, not yours, as they licence this mob.

Make a formal comlaint to DFH and if they do not act satisfactorily, then see if the Financial Ombudsman will take the case up.

    Hi

I think the problem is going to be that you don't have a copy of the terms and conditions. Can you see if they have a draft on their website?

It is a pain but legally you would need evidence of what you have signed if they are challenging the agreement. Theoretically you can request a copy but if you have doubts about them you may feel that they may "amend" the copy they send.

Good luck with Paypal - they otgether with CCCS do help a lot of people on here.
  • what a terrible experience and thanks for the warning to other people who may be tempted to use agencies like that!!!!

After just a few days on this board I know not to approach ANYONE who asks for a fee to run a DMP! CCCS or PayPlan all the way... I have signed up with CCCS and there is no way I would have received better advice by paying for it! I need to know that every penny I can spare is going towards my debts and the only way to be sure of that is to stick with CCCS or Payplan.
