Ok guys.........lol.
I just got a letter about this debt, so now i really do need advice.
The company is called "UK Default Recovery", all it says is, the amount owed (5881.00), and that i should call the number.
Not really sure how to deal with it to be honest, i cant have it as a default if they register on my file, is there anyway to make it so they start on "0" on my file?
My income is nothing right now.0 -
I'm new to this board so am not a good person to advise on how to deal with debt recovery, but I have had an experience of dealing with debt while suffering depression and being only in temporary work.
I got into trouble with a store card a few years ago now, and buried my head in the sand and a similar thing happened to me , a default was registered on my credit file, and I ended up with a CCJ. It felt impossible at the time, but I kept working all the hours I could as a temp, eventually found permanent work and slowly I paid about £5000 (including some other debts) off and my credit file will be clean by next September.
I didn't know about the CCCS or about making offers of reduced payment at the time, I just plugged away at paying. I dont mean to take the moral high ground - I paid because that was the only option I thought I had. I'm sure if I'd thought there was an easier way, I'd have tried it! But as a result of having to go out to work no matter how I was feeling, I've learned how better to handle my money, and also I think, it helped me to get through feeling depressed, because I felt better just knowing I was taking back control of my finances and keeping my independance .
I managed to get a mortgage at normal rates last year despite my CCJ - after using a credit card carefully for more than a year, my bank, who I've been with for more than 10 years, were really helpful. Now I'm throwing all my spare money into decorating and furnishing my new house.
I don't mean to say it was easy, but it CAN be done. I came to this site, because now I am on the way to getting my credit file straight I want to keep on track and keep my legitimate credit card and mortgage under control.
I wish I'd had the kind of advice that people are giving you in these threads gameover, and I really wish you all the best in getting through this struggle.0 -

They will not register this as a "0" as the account has been previously defaulted, and this is the status they will report.GameOver wrote:Ok guys.........lol.

My income is nothing right now.
You will also find the DCA’s will not provide "regular account conduct" information to the CRA's ( i.e a history trail of "0" ect if you continue to make payments) they have no interest in helping you to show positive information, they just want to twist your arm with the pain of a default mark
They will undoubtedly register this default on your file as "D" and then it will be marked as satisfied as and when you settle the account.
Unfortunately the only way that the default mark will be removed is if a Full and Final settlement figure is agreed in the early stages of the debts assignment.
From your previous post it is apparent that this will not be financial viable for you, so the best option is just to negotiate a sensible repayment plan with this agent.
If you chose to ignore the letter it is likely that as well as the default that they will apply for a CCJ in an attempt for enforce payment. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
Ok thanks guys!!
