weve managed to build up around 12k debt we were managing to keep up payments somwhow to 7 of our creditors but were really struggling once littlewoods passed account to ndr.they told us to see cab to offer a lower repayment so when we went we had afull assessment and were told we really couldnt afford to pay any creditors and should make payments of 1.00 a month.they said theyd deal with all letters etc which was a big weight off our mind.we started making 1.00 payments in july and have never had any letters saying this offer was accepted from our creditors.anyway just had letter from cab saying theres nothing more they can do just keep paying
1.00 and gave us template letters to keep sending to the creditors if they get in touch.really worried though as even though paying 1.00 a month charges and interest keeps being added so feel as though were in a worse mess now and worriedabout ccjs and ddorstep collectors being threatened by mercers.just feel left to cope on our own,has anyone else dealt with this and do creditors usually take no more action if you keep paying a pound?please help

I am surprised that the CAB haven't told you to contact someone at CCCS or Payplan about a proper Debt Management Plan. There is a thread at the top of this board to ask a CCCS specialist a question - I am sure they would be able to help you. They deal with creditors on your behalf and attempt to get the interest frozen or reduced.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

There is loads of advice on this site but here is where to start.
1. Dont panic
2. Start by calling the national debtline or CCCS - they will help you with your options.
3. Post an SOA (a statement of affairs) - http://www.makesenseofcards.co.uk/soacalc.html - that way we can what your income and out goings are like and make suggestions.£10 per day Challenge (Oct)

Hi
You only need a surplus of £100 to get on a DMP with CCCS so you should be able to do it.
Can you get a combined package for your TV/Internet/Phone? You are paying £56 for all three at the moment, you could definately get it cheaper.
How many are you feeding with the grocery budget? You should be able to cut that.
What is the secured loan? If you are renting then I don't understand how you have a secured loan.

Thanks for the above
1. How many in your household, adults and children.
2. Do you absolutely need a car?
3. What is the loan secured on?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
hi we live in a bad area to get cheaper internet/phone etc they just say its not available at present!grocerys is for 2 adu;ts and 2 kids one who is in nappies.dont know what emergeny funds for cab said put it!!i thought you could only pay council tax over 10 months??0

sorry the loans secured on car which we do need fro partner to get to and from work and we have no shops near us weve 18 months left so will then
have more money to throw at these debts0 -
You bought a car for £12K?
How much is actually outstanding on this loan. What is the car worth? Can you sell it and get a run around for £1,000 to get him to work?
You really cannot afford Sky given your situation, go to freeview for a couple of years. Your groceries is high. And you cannot aford entertainment at the moment.
If CAB have not stopped charges and interest on your catalogues and cards, you need to post up the APRs.
Have you started reclaiming charges from the CCS and catalogues?
And if you have bought stuff, what can you now sell via amazon, e-bay or car boot sales to put towards your debts? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
You certainly can make some improvements to you SOA.
Did the CAB mention bankruptcy to you at all? I just wonder as paying £1 token payments is not a long term solution (especially when they are just adding interest on top).£10 per day Challenge (Oct)
