Taking control

Hi everyone, I have visited this board many times over the past two years looking for advice and scanning through the posts. My Husband and I owe in the area of £45,000 to loans and cards etc, he started his own business and then we had to give up has we had not had any income and two years of struggle was enough. I'm on medication and he's been in denial, but we've had a breakthrough and he's been able to talk to me. We contacted CCCS nearly two years ago and have been making token payments - not always on time I may add - much my fault. Its been soooo hard, I know that theres lots of us out there. Anyway his acknowledgement came as a shock and it has given me some control, I have set up standing orders and am starting to feel a little better. I felt in too deep to cope on my own. I even told him I wanted to go bankrupt. We have decided together not to take any drastic action just yet but to wait a year and see if we can pull things around. Obviously the debts are not going to go away easily and theres lots of hard work ahead. Just wanted to vent a little and say "Thanks" to everyone out there who understands and doesn't judge, it has given me a little light at the end of the tunnel when all I could see was darkness.

  • Hey that's what we're here for, we're all in the same boat through one reason or another and yes we all have varying levels of debts but you can start finding a way through it, there hasn't been a debt problem yet that can't be solved.

Have you done an SOA recently? why not do a new one and post it up, a fresh perspective on your situation may help
