Mind you, its how you look at the facts really, I can see huge discounts on some places on there, but how do we know how much they had overpriced in the first place? Similarly there are some cheeky sods who have taken a fiver off (literally!).
I am with the 30% camp all the same0 -
A BTL Landlord who needs to off-load property or properties quickly, couples seperating, a Job relocation, An inherited second property depreciating by the day, That dream house has just come on the market, Redundancy, unable to keep up repayments, there are Dozens of reasons why people cannot wait ad infinitum, Can you not Understand ?? ..... All this in a Recession means house prices have a long way to go yet ..sorry

We are all aware of distressed sales but for the majority, NO WORRIES.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

I can see 2 out of 23 which entered the market in jan 08 at crazy outset prices. both 2 bed-terrace new builds in an Okish part of town for £156/158K.Mind you, its how you look at the facts really, I can see huge discounts on some places on there, but how do we know how much they had overpriced in the first place? I hope they do, but i thinks its just wish full thinking, you may find a bit of a hovel going down 50%, where people are desperate to sell but it hasnt got to that stage yet by me.

Hi, only just seen this - bit nervous about putting too much personal info on here. What sites are you using and Ill check them out with my post code. But certainly no reduced signs on any of the houses in the local paper nor in the estate agents window. House up the road just gone on for £210k and its a 3 bed terrace - up about £20k on last year for same type of property. Im not arguing this, if there have been decreases, they have not been noticeable. Can you give me the site urls for checking it out please?
Hey, silly as it sounds, I hadnt tried property snake for my own area. Well, its very interesting, though the drops are very low - highest was 6%. (We are in a property "hot spot" apparently) Amazing how different houses look in the estate agents pics, I was thinking, Oh, thats a good buy - lol and then realising its the doss house that I pass on the way to the shops right on the corner of a busy road opposite a cafe. How disappointing it must be for people who dont know an area when they see the photos and then the real thing. Lovely, I shall spend a bit of time looking at that now
Oh oh, just found one 15% down but ridiculously overpriced in the first place, completely out of synch with the other houses in that road - new buildish too. Its very interesting - seems like the houses built on a new "executive" estate about 4 years back and the ex LA semis are the ones that are being reduced. The more mature or indeed historic ones dont seem to have hardly budged. Shall spend ages on this now.0 -

The name of the town will do. Unless your real name is Hethmar then giving out the name of your town is not going to harm anyone. We're not asking for bank details or blood type
I live in Notting Hill. There you go. If there's a property hotspot anywhere in the country then Notting Hill is it.
Take this property for example, http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-18214312.rsp?
Currently £675 started at £845. It's also a very very desirable property.
So a town name would be good so we can have a look to verify the fact that there's no downward trend.
To look yourself install property bee http://www.property-bee.com/ and then check Rightmove.0
