My BM yesterday................

I went to a funeral yesterday morning, before I left I put the BM on with one of the Asda packets of wholemeal mix (never used them before in machine).
When I got back at almost 2pm, the kitchen was full of smoke!
It seems the bread had caught on fire. A piece of dough had fallen over the side and caught alight, burnt to a charcol and started to burn up along the outside of pan to the top of crust and also burnt that.
How my kitchen didn't go up in flames is beyond me.
Has anyone else used these mixes and found the same problem?
I made up the packet to exact instructions.
The BM looks ok after a scrub, but the kitchen stinks of fire.
Any ideas how to get rid of that horrid smokey smell please?
Had windows open all night and it still stinks.
Thanks
LL

Yuk
I had a similar problem but caught it before it was on fire (just lots of smoke!)
I had forgotten to put in the water though......
I have used the occasional mix without problem.
Smoke wise - air; open windows doors etc.0 -
I thought you were going to tell us about your bowel movements at first.
I cant help you with breadmaker problem as I dont have one . . .0 -
Did you check the amount of mix you put in the machine? As I recall some of these breadmixes are designed for hand rather than machine breadmaking. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
