First Trust Bank Charges

I run a small martial art club which is a non profit making club, as instructors we dont get paid for coaching. We bank with the first trust who charge us to lodge money, cheques, writing cheques and an account maintainance charge. Its costing over £100 per year and its been tlike this for years, when i ask why are we being charged they say its a business account. I have since discovered Barclays do community accounts so i am in the process of moving the account as its free banking.
Is there anyway to reclaim any of the charges First Trust have charged us ovcer the last 10 years.

Probably best checking with reclaiming forum.

My gut feeling is these are not able to be reclaimed as these are not penalty charges such as for going overdrawn, but service charges for for running such an account.

I left them years ago due to the shocking level of charges. However, a few years later I received a 'without prejudice' payment from them by BACS for 'charges that may or may not have been correct'. I took the money but regret now that I did as I would have a good case for reclaiming. Cash in the hand and all that - duh!!
  • what happens if you dont accept the "without prejudice" offer,is it possible to get more
