Remortgaging... When to start?

Options
I am wondering if anyone could give me some advice on remortgaging please?

When do you start the process, 1 month before, 2 months, etc?

3 months before is generally a good timescale

  • Excellent, thank you!

Can you have it to start the day after my current one ends?

You would always advise the solicitor of the date your current deal expires, so that they will make sure it starts as near as possible after this date

I will probably start the process 12-16 weeks before, just to be safe! :)

Yes with the exception of weekends and bank holidays.
My deal ends on a Friday, so I can't complete until the Monday, so I'll have to pay SVR for 3 days.

I think it must depend on your lender as I am completing on 1 January 2009 and would have to wait til the 5th if weekends and bank holidays weren't included.
