I try to avoid beauty products full of chemicals so am looking for a cheap easy body lotion, preferably something for fairly dry skin that will do my whole body including hands and feet (but not face).
Any advice??

I have dry skin and use oil at night (grapeseed or almond, maybe with some essential oils added). Different oils moisturise to different degrees - safflower is light, olive oil is more intensive).
Yogurt, milk, oatmeal and egg yolk can also all be used to make moisturisers.
Cheap body lotion free from synthetic chemicals are hard to find, so you may have to pay a bit more than you'd like. Try online retailers such as naturalcollection, soorganic, lovelula etc for a bigger range of products. Personally I love Weleda products, but find I have to buy them on line.
I also use rosehip oil on my face.
And don't forget, if you make your own stuff, you're often using food (VAT free), so you should get more for your money.0 -

I make a body butter by melting and whisking cocoa butter and shea butter with olive oil and essential oils. Bit hit and miss for consistency as I don't weigh and measure but cheap and effective.0

You could try coconut oil. I've used it as lip balm and intensive hair conditioner with good results. It's readily available, and doesn't need anything to be done to it, plus it has a long shelf life.0

I use Lush's massage bars as body moisturisers- they might seem a bit pricey at around a fiver but they last ages so compared to a tub of body butter for the same price.
I like the idea of making my own, Magentasue, where do you buy your cocoa and shea butter?Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice.

Yes, I like lush bars, especially the one they made for Christmas a couple of years ago. I bought cocoa butter and shea butter on ebay, and almond oil and vitamin E oil from Holland and Barret when they had a promotion on.0
