How to clean a baby bottle steam sterilizer the OS way?

Hi folks,

I have a quick question for you. I have just got my bottle sterilizer out of the attic ready for baby no two arriving in a few weeks and I want to give it a good clean. I remember that it came with some little packets of stuff you had to use monthly to stop limescale build up i think. Well any idea what I could use instead as I don't have any of those left. My guess would be bicarb and white vinegar put into the machine then it put through its programme. It is an Avent btw.

Any ideas gratefully recieved!

Thanks Bells

The little sachets just contain citric acid. You can buy it very cheaply in small, herb sized, tubs. It's normally sold with/near wine making equipment - I get mine at Wilkinsons, for I think, 79p

Follow the instructions that came with your machine for using the sachets. Just substitute sachet for 1 level teaspoon from the tub.
  • Brilliant! Many thanks for the advice lil_me and sooz.
