Get a free pound for taking the bus to Ikea from Largs, breafast at Ikeas is 95 pence
I only found out a few weeks ago that if you take the luxury Harte bus from Largs to Braehead shopping centre and get out at the huge Ikea there the bus driver gives you a pound coin. Scratching my head in disbelief I asked him what this was for. He said it is for your breakfast at Ikea's. I thought it was a joke or something. You have to catch the 9.30 bus to get to Ikea before the breakfast closes at 11.00. Then when we got to Ikea's we were met by a greeter who asked us if we wanted a family card and then we can have a free cup of tea or coffee every time we come to Ikea.
We went to the cafeteria and had breakfast with scrambled eggs, tomato, baked beans, sausage, bacon for 95 pence, topped up with a free cup of coffee.
I am still shaking my head I can't believe it as I went on the bus travelling free to top it off, I am a senior now yippee. I had a hot breakfast, cup of coffee and came home with 5 pence in my pocket.
So if there are any people on here from Largs, Kilburnie, Lochwinnoch etc get on the bus, have your pound, get your breakfast and a cuppa and save on your heating bill for the 3 hours that you are out. Cannae beat it, yer ken in real Scottish style.

Nice one! I might have to find out if they do this for the Edinburgh one!
You might want to also post this in the Local Moneysaving section as a lot of people will check and see if there is anything Scotland-specific in there

HI Thanks for that. I really did not know where to post it and it is somewhat like years ago when we used to file paper files and someone would file something in an entirely different file than what you would do yourself. Sorry about that. Taffy0

I used to live next door to the two churches that have the coffee mornings and I always used to go and buy some home baking too. It sure is a small world isn't?
There is a big jumble sale in the church next door to where I used to live on Saturday. A big Xmas jumble, I bought loads there last year dishes, casserole dishes, loads of books and lovely smellies for Xmas. Tell your aunt. Taffy0
