Am I receiving the correct pension?

The National Insurance minefield again - is there any way I can check whether I am receiving the correct state pension? Friends who have never worked appear to be receiving more; although I haven't the full contribution record (bringing up children, part-time jobs, etc), I qualify for Home Responsibilities Protection and paid the full NI when working.

The friends who have never worked are probably getting 60% of the basic pension based on their husband's contributions. This option would also be available to you, presumably, so if it is more than you are entitled to on your own account you may be best to opt for that instead.Trying to keep it simple...0

how much are you getting
how many years did you pay full NI contribs
how many year of HRP0 -
The easiest way to get a comprehensive answer is to contact the pension service on 0845 60 60 265 and ask for something in writing which explains in detail how your State Pension has been calculated. I thiink they're referred to as 'working life letters'.
Hope this helps.
