  • Hello

i've been a partylite consultant for 2 years and although my business got off to a good start, its slowly dwindled down to nothing.

I'm going to 're-start' i january and wonder if any one has any tips or advice?
i've tried pretty much everything - fairs, home shows, advertising, facebook, leaflet drops.
I have great support from my leader who is fantastic and i've tried everything she's suggested too!

i really struggle to get bookings and then when i do get bookings, i struggle to get bookings from the show! i have a facebook page with about 60 members but none of these want to book a show. i have a large network of friends but i've asked all of them and nobody is interested. i have gone about partylite for so long, i wonder if i've annoyed them with it!

i really want to do well with partylite. i went to conference and saw people who were earning thousands so i know it can be done......but how!!!

cant wait to hear from you all

    xxx:confused:

If you are not getting bookings at shows , you could perhaps look at what you are doing , how you are doing it and changing anything that you need to

I always talk about booking a show when I go over the questions on the door prize slips , then when guests come to pay for their items , I ask them one to one again.

You need to change your view on it . You are doing them a favour by getting them free products . They are not doing you the favour. If they want a show you need to check your diary because you are so busy you might not be able to fit them in . If you come accross as desperate they wont book

Get an A4 sheet and make a monthly planner , make it visible so guests can see it . Fill it with loads of "bookings". These "bookings could be when you have somthing else on and don't want to work . leave the dates you want filled blank ( aim to get 2 bookings a week to start with) , so the other five days you can fill with "bookings"?

The feeling of missing out on something is a great motivator for a buyer ( i.e a hostess) . If she sees you are booked up and busy she will more likely to book for fear of losing out . No body wants to book with a hostess thats not busy , same as we would be reluctant to go into an empty store . How often do you choose a cafe where there are people already eating? You think to yourself this cafe must be good or people wouldn't eat here. It's the same with booking parties

Offer somthing better than every other partylite consultant , for example a bagging up and delivery service . Gift wrapping service . Sometimes the last thing a hostess wants to do when she gets home from work is wade through a huge box , trying to work out who ordered what . Its not always practical if the hostess lives miles away , but why not try it for the more local ones?
If people percieve having a party is a hastle they could do without...they wont book!!

Make sure your customer service is A1 and make sure that nothing is too much trouble. If you have a complaint , deal with it proffessionally and promptly. For example with an order thats late , pop a couple of wrapped tealights in the bag with a little note saying sorry

Be interested in people , chat to them about themselves , build up a rapport .
When you go and do a party , they are not just buying candles and accessories , they are buying YOU , and often this can be more important . So how you present yourself and come accross is vital if you want bookings . Are you smart looking? Proffessional? Pushy? Non assertive? Ask your close friends for some honest feedback and make any changes you need to make

It usually takes a day before they do the roll over.

I have already placed a December order and not yet on the system until rollover, so don't worry !

    Hi - Welcome!

    Candlesrus gave you fab advice.

I would also say - that when doing fairs you need to really chat to people.

I always do the candle survey and give everyone a free tealight for filling in the survey and tell everyone I will contact them within 2 weeks to see how they got on with free candle.

You also need to go with the offers that are on in the month - e.g. the wax pack which is on at the moment get a cheap basket and fill with this and show it off well, this always drums up interest.

You really do need to build up a rapport with people, I always find out what they like and show them how they can get it free!:D

  • PartyLite U.K have had a bumper November apparently which is fantastic news, sales are up from last November . I've just been chatting to my upline , she said her region sales have gone up by £400,000 compared to last November . It just proves that the sceptics out there that said people won't buy candles in a recession are completely wrong. I think people are frightened to make large purchases , but quite happy to treat themselves to small luxury items . Apparently sales in the perfume industry have gone through the roof

  • We have had our best month ever too. Six people in our team bonused this month!!! Amazing . Our goal is to get to executive club and manage to stay there. There is also so much interest for new consultants wanting to start in January. Lets hope 2010 is a record breaking year. If this what it is like in a recession just think what It will be like when the recession is over!!!
  • Who has been on the new CBC site yet?

It is quite different but fab - had a quick look around and love the new lead/customer system so we can add all our contacts, fab way to cut down on all the bits of paper (lol)
