Credit File Problem / Turned Down for Remortgage

Hi,

I have recently been turned down for a remortgage even though Ive had a very good credit history (all the bad stuff was so long ago its not there except the following). The only thing I can see on my file is something from fairlmile partnership. Account type says "bank default" it has been marked as satified in november 2005. There is no other information about the balance or anything else, im wondering if this is why I could have been turned down and if this is classed as a default? I have no idea what this is for and have emailed the credit agency to dispute it, I though that if it was a default then it would surely be marked with a D?

The only other thing I can think of is that im still registered at my previous address on the electoral roll but this will change to my current address on the first of december.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your electoral roll issue won't help but the reason will be this default, 'fairmile partnership' sounds like a DCA that the bank default has been sold to, you need to get the contact details from the credit agency and speak to fairmile directly yourself to find out where this is from
