  • I have bulked out my sons(who is 2 ) presents with small items such as a plastic christmas cup, crayons, colouring books.
I bought most of these from £1 shops or home bargains.
how old are your children? are you looking for stocking fillers or mini presents?

Depending on your budget, check out www.bakerross.co.uk/ they do packs of toys which you can split up. I find it very useful as I have 11 children to buy for (6 nieces/nephews and 5 children I babysit/nanny for).

Thanks for the link Toonie - some bits and pieces in their sale section that will be useful for homemade Christmas crackers :T
  • how about bubbles, kids soap, colouring books...
    balls,can of pop,pens,puzzles,marbles,teddys,books,
i got some smaller bits from hawkins bazaar! http://www.hawkinsbazaar.co.uk

I am also on a budget for stocking fillers, just wanted to say a special thanks to rainmac for that crayon cakes link! What a brilliant idea! Now i know what to do with all the manky old broken crayons we have ended up with! :T

No problem, I 'cooked' mine at 130 degrees for 10 minutes and that was enough to melt them. A couple of mine stuck in the tins and were hard to get out so not sure if I would try next time to melt them in cake cases rather than direct in the tins and them peel the cases off. I was so impressed at how quickly you get something completely original from old bits of crayon ;)

the mirror newspaper are doing a lego givaway this week and next. Just collect 7 tokens and send off £6.50 for a set of 12 lego items such as dinosaurs, speedboat, digger etc. I'm collecting tokens for both my boys. You can redeem tokens daily in woolworths but as I dont have one local I find it easier to just pay the £6.50 to get the whole set at once.

I'm doing this too, great offer and my DS1 is really getting into Lego - he's 4. They will be a fab pressie for not much £ ;)

Here's a pic of my crayon 'cakes', you can see the ones that were b*ggers to get out of the tins as they've got bits missing round the edges... :rotfl:

  • Nestle cereals have a special offer on some of their boxes to send away for certain DVDs from Play.com for only £1. See www.play.com/nestle for full list. You need to buy the cereal to get a unique code inside the box.

I got this earlier today and bought
Monster House its cost £1 inc p&p
    which seems like good value

The cereals were £2.32 as they only
had the honey nut loops in stock with
the offer on at the time.
But it all seemed to go through fine
