What about a movie hamper or a baking hamper - bath hamper, car wash hamper, candle hamper.... dont think about the fact they are vegetarians!
  • Thanks for the reply poohzee,
they dont watch alot of tv/movies, dont have a car, wont have candles in the flat as the cats like to knock things over,
so really it would be a baking, pamper or food/drinks hamper i think.

still havent got a clue waht to put in it

It sounds like they are vegan and not just veggie.

Do they like alcohol? What about a bottle of nice wine? Check that it's suitable for vegetarians and vegans (if you have a co-op they are brilliant for labelling their own brand wines). If they like real ales Sam Smiths beers are all vegan friendly (and they do some nice organic ones), and are also really cheap. Almost all spirits are vegan friendly.

Green and Blacks dark chocolates (just the dark ones mind) are suitable for vegans, and the Maya Gold one is particularly nice. Likewise most good quality dark chocolate is suitable for vegans, Divine (which you can buy in Oxfam) is nice and vegan-happy.

Other ideas could be a suet-free christmas pudding (or one that uses veggie suet as these don't USUALLY contain dairy or eggs), nice oat cakes and some vegetarian pates or houmous (check ingredients for dairy and eggs though), kettle crisps (the plain ones, balsamic vinegar ones, cracked pepper ones are all off the top of my head vegan friendly), pringles (plain and paprika both fine), bourbon biscuits and hobnobs are vegan (although obviously not the chocolate covered ones).

Also, if you're up for baking things I can give you tips on how to make things vegan that normally have eggs and milk in.

    I hope all that helps!

How about a games hamper filled with puzzle books, couple packs cards, dominoes, cheapie games (Home Bargains have had some nice ones).

How about a chinese foodie hamper - add a wok (can get these really cheaply in shops like Wilkos or Chinese supermarket), chopsticks, soy sauce, oil, spices such as five spice, ginger, rice, dried noodles, fortune cookies...

Pizza lovers hamper - pizza dough in a box or ready made longlife bases, tomato passata. tomato puree, dried herbs, pizza cutter, olive oil... could do similar with pasta

Pamper hamper - herbal tea, relaxation technique book, smelly stuff for bath (bath bomb from Lush type shop) or you could make your own bath salts...

Do they read? Basket of books?

    HTH :-)

i think i am going to do a westcountry hamper for the aunt uncle and grandparents, they all live in yorkshire and we are in devon and it shouldnt be to hard.

i think i will add a dr who mug for uncle, a cat mug for aunt, and mugs with a photo of our wedding on for grandparents (as they couldnt make our wedding)
and then add westcountry jam, chutneys ect ...with biscuits and scrumpy cider and dairy free chocs and fruity tea bags.
