bit of advice

i was getting debt free then went a bit mad when i split up with my ex, now with a new partner and we have been talking about moving in together. Have 2 credit cards which i am snowballing, they should be gone by April its just my overdraft.

I earn £1022 a month and my overdraft is £1200, am i allowed to open a new account and class this £1200 as a debt then i can pay some back to it every month? I cant seem to see a chance of paying it back whilst still using the account

Of course you're allowed to do that, if I were you I'd set up a standing order from the new account just so I wouldn't forget to put money in. Do make sure though that the new account is with a bank not linked to your creditors.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Why not do a new soa and post it up and see if anyone has any more suggestions for you and so you can get it clear where you are starting from now. I'm sure you've learnt loads from before but you may pick up a few more tips to get you debt free even quicker.

Hey I had an overdraft larger then my salary and I was thinking of doing the same, to save the hassle of changing banks if you dont want to, i started phoning my bank on payday and reducing it by £50 a month Im still doing this and its slowly coming down im even in the black for one day a month now! lol
