    Hi
I started my DMP with CCCS this month and am still getting calls from Bank of Scotland saying they wont go ahead with it until they receive a breakdown of our income and outgoings. I spoke to someone at CCCS last week as they said it was all sent but Bank of Scotland rang again this morning asking for it. Also they should have received their first payment, but they dont seem to have any record of it. They are giving me 3 weeks for the payment to reach them, but surely it would've been there by now, or does it take longer?
Also do I need to inform CCCS of the creditors who havent stoppped interest or added charges?
    Thanks :)

    Hi there.

You're creditors are always sent a copy of your budget electronically at the start of the DMP. As far as payment is concerned, I'd say it's worth calling us up about this to see what's happened. Payment is sent to most creditors by BACS so it would be with them within a day or two. I can't really advise much further, so I would definitely say call us so we can look into things further for you.

As far as confirmation about which creditors have accecpted/rejected proposals, we would also be informed from the creditor so there is no need to send this to us.

    Regards,
    Matthew.

    Can you help?
My husband bought a new PC and along with it, took out a PC Protection warranty to cover repairs if they were ever necessary.
At the end of the first year, he didn't renew the warranty - but forgot to cancel the direct debits with the bank.
We have now written to the company who have cancelled the warranty but say they cannot refund the year's direct debits.
Is there anything we can do?

    Hi there.

This isn't something we would really be able to advise on. Consumer Direct should be able to provide help as they give impartial consumer advice. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

    Good luck,
    Matthew.

    Hello

I have just received my DMP from the CCCS and I was wanting some time to gather the relevant paywork together along with setting up a bank account, do you think it would be wise to await the very latest statements and start activating the plan next payday with all the direct debits in place?

Also how would it be viewed to put some money aside in a savings account for emergencies such as car maintenance, plumbing emergencies etc, i was wanting to have something put aside if possible each month.

Also will I get a fair few letters, phone calls etc from creditors at first hassling me for payment, until the plan is fully set up?

I look forward to your reply

    Hi there.

We aim to set up a DMP for the first day of the following month. It's up to you when you want to go ahead with it all - if you think you can get things sorted for April 1st then we can look to do it then, or if you need more time to get things sorted your end it could be delayed until May. You don't need to worry about sending the most up to date statements as we will get the balances from the creditors directly. We just need confirmation of the account details.

Costs such as car and house maintenance are included within the areas of expenditure in the CCCS budget, so you don't need to save for these things seperately. If you think you've missed these costs off you can always give us a call and we can amend your budget to reflect you putting some money aside for these tihngs.

It's likely you will get lots of letters and the odd phone call from creditors for the first couple of months of the DMP. Generally things tend to die down a bit once they start receiving regular payments.

    Hope this helps,
    Matthew.

    Hi,

This is my 1st post and I wanted to post a message here for so long but I was embarrased and ashamed of my large unsecured loan. I owe money to 6 credit card companies which all add up to £60,000. I have received advice from CCCS after doing an online remedy in November 2009 and they have told me to pay £1.00 token to each of my creditors every month as my priority outgoings were more than my income. I have been paying them the £1.00 token payment regularly since then and my current financial status is still the same and I don,t have any surplus income to go into IVA or Debt Management Plan. So I will have to carry on paying them the token payments for the moment.

I owe MBNA 19,000 and recently they offered(verbally) me a full and final settlement figure of £9,500 which is 50% of the full amount and they said they were open to negotiations. Since then they keep ringing me and asking if I want to negotiate F&F figure with them. They said failing this they will pass the debt to debt collectors. I believe that I can bring this down to about £7,000 which will be about 35% of the whole amount I owe them.

I might be able to borrow this money from the close family but I am wooried about my other creditors. I have nothing extra to offer the others at the moment.
If I negotiate with the MBNA and agree on a figure as Full and Final Settlement, do I need to disclose the information to my other creditors?

What will the legal implications be? I have been told that you should not favour one creditor over the other.

Can they do anything if they find out which they surelly will?

None of my other creditors offered me anything yet and they are all saying that they will be serving me with default notice and then pass the debt to debt collectors or take me to court in about 2 months time and this is worrying me to death. At the moment all the phone calls have ceased and I barely get any phone calls. I have been told that the debt collectors collection tactics will be tougher when they take over the loan from the Credit Card Companies.

Can you please tell me what to do? Shall I go for a full and final settlement with the MBNA.

    Has anyone had similar experiences?

Any help would be greately appreciated!!!

    Many Thanks in advance

Hi, I am in A DMP woith POay Plan at the moiment but are not really happy with them with regards to advice needed over the last 6 months they are very slow to respond.

My urgency is to change DM Companies to a better one the main reason is that 1 creditor for an unsecured Loan in my sole name has manged to get a CCJ ( No problem) as this was the same amount i have been paying them under the DMP anyway but they also at the same time apoplied for a charging order which the case was adjourned about 3 times but the last date was asked by ourselves to be adjourned again due to me not being able to attend due to a new job the Court Refused & the hearing went ahead so they now have the Final charging order. I have not missed any payments under the CCJ and need to try & appeal against this urgently as the court case was on the 17th Feb 2010 the debt was unsecured & only in my wifes name the creditor has been a pain even to Pay Plan not responding to requests for copies of Statement of account or original agreement niether to myself or them.

Can anyone help me please I need to discuss urgently today or Tomorrow.

Does the CCCS offer face to face appointments ?

My ;evel of Debt is just under 40k in total & I have equity in my property

I have really had enough now of all of this

    Kind Regards,

    Simon
  • Hiya,
Quick question! I am entering a DMP with CCCS, I've opened a new bank account. I've opened a basic account with Lloyds TSB with no O/D facility obviously! I thought they had no associations with my creditors - but they took over HBOS last year(???). One of creditors is Halifax - should I avoid using my Lloyds TSB account? Is there a real danger of them grabbing my funds from the account?

Everything is set up now - so annoying, only saw it in the paper about the take over this morning. Soon it will be one global bank!

    Bests.

    Hi.
Iam having trouble with baliff and would like some info.
My partner has 2 liability orders for coucil tax which we had the baliff turn up on the door yesterday to collect.
He was refused entry and gave us a letter and said he would be back tomorrow.
I have contacted the council and asked them to recall the account and made a payment. They refused to recall the account and said if we want to make an agreement I should speak to the baliff and agree with him.
I still don't want the baliff in but have made a payment and am still willing to make an agreement.
He came down again today and was refused entry and refused to disscuss anything. He then informed me he would return again with a warrent for my partner's arrest. Can they do this?
I have not been provided with the order's or any breakdown as to why they have put £160 extra on the bill from the first visit.
How do we get an agreement in place without having the baliff in??
    Thanks

    Hi there.

A settlement can be a great way of clearing a huge chunk of debt if you have the ability to find the money to do it. In theory, it's best not to settle one debt and leave the others but there is certainly no hard or set rule about doing it. You don't have to disclose the fact you've done it to your other creditors either. If you do go for a settlement, make sure you get it in writing before commiting to it.

The only other thing I would be wary about, is whether or not you may ever consider bankrutpcy. If once you've balanced your budget you look at going bankrupt then you would be kicking yourself for paying £7k off one debt when it's going to get written off via bankrutpcy. You didn't mention whether you have any assets, so I'm not sure whether this would be something you could consider at any stage but it was worth mentioning.

The token payment method is only generally considered a short term way of dealing with your debts until things start to improve. Have you looked at any way in which to maximise your income or reduce what's going out to balance your budget? If you need any further help you can always call us up again and we can discuss ways in which we think you might be able to balance things out.

    Hope this helps,
    Matthew.
