  • I received my cover letter pack from the CCCS and I'm currently filling out my agreement to them. I have a list of 8 creditors in total, 3 credit cards, 2 overdrafts, 2 personal loans and a payday loan. I have account numbers for everything except for the payday loan, they don't issue you with an account number, what do I do? I also need to send my token payments, should I ask them to send me current statements in return?

Hi Rachael am I right in seeing this payday loan was Payday UK? I have had the same problem as they use your name, postcode, email and DOB for verification details. CCCS didnt accept this so I gave them my current Loan Number which I believe is ok as when CCCS write they will see your name address etc and a loan number which Payday UK can tally up to the correct account.

As for token payments I dont know as I didnt send mine one as they had a payment at the beginning of this month for deferral.

I didnt produce a statement when I sent my pack back to CCCS I just typed out a chart with their details on, my details, amount outstanding and the amount they would take from me next month.
  • Yeah, it's paydayUK, did you have much problems with them? I have my current loan agreement number so I'll just use that too. I have to send all my creditors a token payment as their paymants usually come out at the end of the month. My phone has been going non stop since I cancelled the direct debits, I just ignore them though :D

When you gave your outstanding amounts to the CCCS, were they totally accurate? I'm not 100% sure of my capital one cc balance as I defaulted on this and set up a repayment plan with them but haven't had any statements since. I'm also not sure of the exact amount for my 2 loans.

I have not heard from any of mine yet, although Quick quid payday loan kept sending urgent emails because of the cancelled DD. I have been using a fee charging DMP company previous to CCCS so thats prob why I have not received many calls.

One of my debts is Capital One and I have no recent paperwork from them so I just put a rough amount in and its been ok. I'm sue CCCS will get access to the correct amount when they make offers. The other option is to contact them for a balance and when they ask if your ringing to make payment just explain your now with CCCS and give them your CCCS number. Once you have the balances just put them in a chart/table with as much info as poss and send with your statements from the other companies. I sent mine in monday 1st class and got it all set up by Friday.
  • Wow that was quick. I was planning to get mine all sorted this weekend but I've been ill, still not feeling great today but I'm going to get going with it tonight. Want it set up as soon as possible, start getting my life back :p

    Hi Emma

You would need to check with the bank regards the SO as you are in control of that payment to see if they can do anything about this.
The debit card payment is more difficult, below is some more information regards payments made by this method, the relevant section is quite a way down on the page.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Thanks for your advice. The link you sent me was very helpful, however, now im in a bit of a pickle!
Bascially, my first payment to CCCS is supposed to be made at the beginning of April but i have only just got round to sending the DMP agreement back etc due to various things. The company that are taking money from my credit card are included on my DMP but i am worried that i will pay CCCS and this company will still take the money from my debit card. I have a feeling if i ring them to tell them CCCS are now dealing with my finances and can they stop taking the payment from my card, they will just say no.

    Hope this makes sense?

    Thanks again.

  • Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post my question, but I'll give it a try....

I recently obtained a copy of my free credit report with Equifax and on it it shows that there is a settled credit agreement with Welcome Finance, whereby I had agreed with them that I would pay an amount for full and final settlement and this would show on my credit file.
But - it shows 'Partial settlement - Payment recieved as full and final settlement althought payment would not clear the balance.

Is that fair that they can state this seeing as I was in dispute with them ovet the amount in the first place and they made me an offer to settle the account?

Another question I have is that it also shows on my report, that there is a default placed on there from a company called 'Arrow Global Ltd' - now I have no idea who they are and it shows that I have never paid them - which is of course correct as I have no idea who and why they are there. Now if I contact the company to find this information out, do they have to prove that I did indeed take out an agreement with them? Such as provide me with proof of a signed contract of some sort that you take out whenever you take on a credit agreement?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks all

    Hi

I currently owe circa £50k (varying from £2k - £15k unsecured debts) to several creditors. I am also currently on a DMP with Payplan.

There may be an option for a family member to help me out (with a small amount) but I have been warned that I cannot pay off/settle early any individual creditor (e.g. a small debt of £2k) without upsetting the others. Is this true?

Also how much in reality do creditors write off for early settlement?

    Many thanks
    Pottsy

    Hi Pottsy,

It would depend on the circumstances and the point of view of a creditor. If you clear one debt then the remaining debts will receive a bigger proportion of your future monthly payments. On the other hand they may feel that each creditor should have received some of the money available rather than all of it going on one debt. So I suppose you could argue either way, but if Payplan are running your Debt Management Plan I would suggest taking further advice from them.

The amount of debt written off in full and final settlements varies dramatically from one case to another. Each debt collector or creditor calculates the settlement figure based on a large number of different criteria. Usually creditors are willing to accept a lower offer if they can receive a lump sum in a short amount of time, rather than receive the full amount stretched out over a long period. The same kind of logic behind the old saying, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

If you are going to try to negotiate settlement figures for your debts I would recommend getting confirmation in writing before you make a payments, in case you are chased for the remaining balance later down the line.

    Hope this helps.

Hi i have a question for a CCCS Representative. I was on a Debt Plan and it was terminated because i couldnt keep up with the payment with CCCS last August i think.

The reason was i was off work for a few weeks and then i was laid off. Now i am self employed and still in a financial mess. The creditors are on my back and i just wanted to know if i could get on a plan again.
