making mortgage payments with 0% credit card what do you reckon

i want to make mortgage payments on my 0% credit card jst £100 a month then pay it off my mortgage interest in 6.94%

  • I thought CCs usually saw mortgage payments as cash advances, which aren't usually included in the 0% deals.
  • Also, you may find it difficult to get your mortgage provider to accept payments by credit card.
  • I wanted to do this, but my mortgage company wouldn't let me.....so I paid for everything possible on the 0% card (grocery shopping, council tax, car insurance etc etc) then paid the equivalent amount into my mortgage account.

As if I hadn't used my credit card I would have paid out of my current account for these expenses, it actually made no difference to my finances, but I managed to 'slow stooze' to the max on the 0% card that way.

At the end of the 0% period I do have enough in my savings to clear it, but if I didn't then I could take back some of the overpayments on my mortgage without any penalty - worth checking if you can do this in case you over-commit yourself.

Make sure you remember to set up a DD for the min. payment on the 0% card though.........
