Hire Purchase Agreement - Cancellation
I have signed a HP agreement today for the purchase of a new (used) car. I didnt realise until now that the interest the salesman was quoting was a flat rate and not the APR. I have not collected the vehicle yet. Is there anything i can do now to cancel this agreement before taking delivery of the car as I can borrow the money much cheaper from my bank! Feel v stupid for not checking more thoroughly at the time.

Ring the dealer Monday and tell them you will be sorting your own finance.
If there are any issues ring the finance co direct to cancel.
The agreement is not valid until signed by the Finance company.
The dealer may try to disuade you but stand your ground and if need be tell them you are unhappy about the confusion over the APR as they quoted a flat rate which was misleading0 -
I'll be on the phone at 9:00!! Hopefully they won't have signed it by then. Fingers crossed. Thanks standupguy.0
