No more Nightlink, night transport help

A group of work chums are going out in a few weeks so I was looking up what kind of time the buses work to for getting home and it seems like most services stop at around 10 or 11.

I remember when I was younger we used to always get the nightlink services home, but after searching around i find out that its not been running since june! Belfast is certainly not a 24 hour city!! Do all those clubbers get taxis?? seems like a lot of hassle, where do you even go to get taxis from in the centre late at night? how much am i looking for a taxi ride by myself to near glengormley?

Many of us going are not drivers and we all live in different directions so sharing a taxi isnt viable. Thanks to all the belfast mse`s

there is nowhere to go to get taxis unless u go to a taxi office. normally u need to book and pay in advance which is a pian in the bum. i have found that if you leave about half an hour before closing time u can dander to the fonacab office in botanic and get one there reasonable hassle free. good luck!!

maybe have a look at travelodge and see if there are any £10 rooms available?
  • Phone a cab and value cab don't need to be pre booked or paid in advance. If you are going to be on dublin road then I would phone a taxi to KFC or time zone (I think it's called) as not as busy there. City centre just phone to outside where you are.

Taxi to Carrick is £14-16 so Gleng is prob the same or a bit less. They are both meters.

Or stay out till 1st bus home....

The only thing is, if you wait to chucking out time, you'll have a long wait for the taxi to arrive.

Can't you bribe a mate for a lift? Offer them an IOU for the next time they are out, or give them a tenner. That way you don't have to worry about waiting around at the end of the night, or, god forbid, go home early!!!

I didn't think they offered the £10 rooms - I've yet to find anything below £60 for there!

  • Until recently I worked in a Taxi office and we would have charged £9 from Belfast to Glengormley...It normally works out at about £1.20 a mile.
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
