MMR series, Where Are They Now?

Any chance of getting some of the families back in the New Year on the website to answer some questions as to how they are getting on so many weeks/months down the line?
I always enjoy the Channel4 web chats after a programme like Grand Designs and the return visits but perhaps we could submit questions to particular families and you could ask them to answer a few of them.
First up I would like to ask the 1st family if they reverted to using disposable nappies.

So far, Edinburghlass, I'd like to ask them why they've been struggling on a high income (after the first two programmes).
Episode 2 - £50k between them.
Hopefully sometime soon the show will help someone (I know it's all been done, we just don't know what's coming) who is on the breadline.
Helping a family on £50k isn't my idea of appealing to the majority of viewers.0 -
Actually, I think daveboy has made a valid point (for once
).
I appreciate that the moneysaving way of life applies to everyone across the board, but generally it would be families on much lower income that I think would benefit the most.
I missed the first half of today's prog, but I gather the family's objective was to be able to afford a holiday?
There are many families on the breadline that could do with help to just exist with less financial stress but I expect they wouldn't make as good tv, as perhaps what Martin could do to help them would be limited?
Poorer folks wouldn't be able to take advantage of credit card 0% deals etc if their income didn't support an application for example.
Many poorer families don't have Sky or other such luxuries that could be cut so from a program maker's point of view, there would be less to work with and therefore might be less watchable?
Personally, I would love to see more average people on the show though. It's a bit like Location Location Location........when did you ever see a down to earth buyer with a small budget? Recently it's been big budgets of at least £200,000+Herman - MP for all!0 -
I agree with wanting low income families to be featured! hopefully they have been later in the series.
Anyone who struggles to cope on 50 grand needs their head looking at !

It comes across to me that there are people with big chips on their shoulders about anyone earning more than the average wage.
As I've just put on another thread, yes, £50K is a lot of money but doesnt mean a great deal if it's not used wisely. It's a known fact that in general if people earn more they spend more - until they discover MSE!
Yes, I'm sure Martin would have preferred to help those who maybe come across as needing the help more BUT surely whoever he's helping is giving MSE more exposure and publicity which will in turn give those who are in need of help somewhere to turn? :money:0 -
So to keep this thread on topic, can I assume that the question users would want to ask the Potts family would be....
Have you cut down on Happy Meals?0 -

My reason for asking would not just be for the financial outcome BUT for health. Far too much fat, salt and sugar !!! oppps gone off topic!0 -

No I havent got a chip on my shoulder thanks very much! would just like to see some folks who got into debt through no fault of their own getting help instead of those who waste a large income on takeaways etc where anyone can see how they can help themselves.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
