Good News..

Apart from the fact that I am terribly hungover today _pale_ and want to be at home in bed, I have just had my review, and have come out with a £1,000 payrise, and a £750 bonus, yippee!!!!

Last year's bonus was £50 (a colleague told me, I only started in July), so that is what I was expecting, so its a nice suprise to know its £750!! How can I work out what that'll be after tax? (my brain isnt working today!!).

Yippee, yippee, yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

And its Friday, double yippee!!

((I think I'm still drunk))

if you earn under the 40% tax bracket. Its best to shave a 3rd (33%) off the ammount.

It figures out only a few quid off my salerys real figures.

So, 750 after tax/NI is £495. Not too bad!

Everything seems to be going right for you ....

I like your approach better :0)

I'll go with 1/3 and then will be pleasantly suprised if I get more! :0)

I think I'll use that to get my annual travelcard (which runs out in Jan) - before the prices go up of course!!

See, doesnt last long does it!!

The even better news is you don't pay NI on bonuses so you only need to shave off about 25%

Well done I have happy for you - you worked so hard to pay off your debt - I hope I am lucky when I hear about mine in February (crossed fingers)
