Reputable builder for small job

We want to replace one of our windows with a larger window so some brickwork has to be removed and a new lintel installed. We would also probably want a toilet wastepipe moved (in the same room) and that would involve tracking our concrete floor.
Given the downturn in the housing and building market I'm sure there are loads of people who could do the job but we would prefer to pick someone with solid reputation.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
