Sunday 19/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • Clicks
  • check online banking
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • Go swimming twice to use my gym membership
  • do inventory of my storecupboard and see if I need to buy anything
  • update my spreadsheets
  • start sorting out xmas pressies - all bought but stashed all over the place:p Usually find one after xmas that I had forgotten about:rolleyes:
Hi Gang, and any new posters,:D Have a good day everyone, I am just about to go for my first swim, sauna and jacuzzi of the day, its not raining;) and I am wearing my new sparkly socks, what more could anyone ask for:D

Catch up with you all later:D

    Morning Everyone,

This is the first Sunday in ages where I can actually relax and not get too stressed about things. I did say I'd go into work today but seeing as I don't get paid for it I will not. I want a 'me' day!

Here is what I am going to do today:
    • Plan my meals for the week (I must have 6 no spend days by next Saturday to meet my goal of 10 this month!)
    • Move some money between accounts.
    • Pay £160 off a CC! Yippee
    • Look for a high interest savings account so that I can squirrel away money for annual payments.
    • Apply for a 0% CC to transfer a CC that is coming to the end of its deal
    • Declutter a few areas of the house and see if I can find a few more items to list on Amazon
    • Get over my fear of Ebay and list 5 of things that I have been saving in a corner of my living room!
    • File the statements etc from the last few weeks
    • Update my price book
    • Rest, relaxation and pampering - go for a walk, read a book and have a good old facial!
Hope you all have a good Sunday!

Today I will be making the most of the free listing weekend on E-bay and listing all the DVDs that the DDs have outgrown, plus the ones OH bought but couldn't stand and a whole heap of CDs that haven't been listened to in at least 5 years. My aim is 100 items by midnight but I'll probably run out of steam long before then. I'm going with £2 p&p that way if half sell at 99p or more I'll make £100.

Morning gang, hope everyone is having a lovely start to the weekend. i have just come back from my friends house after doing the pamper party last night. I did three mini treatments, which i got paid for and they were all really pleased. One person said she would put some leaflets up in her place of work and possibly throw a pamper party too! So feeling rather energized!!

Painted lady, doesn't sound like things are too good with you at the moment, what with you recovering from being ill and now your son not so well, hope it all works itself out soon.

    So things for today:
-Write notes for all three case studies
    -Begin writing my counselling assignment
-Wash all massage towels that i have used, ready for the next use, which will be on friday so far, i have one massage booked in for this week and two for the week after!!
    -Work on nvq work

-Finish it and print out for tomorrow
-Unload car, this is important as the more crap i have in there, the more expenisve it is to drive!!

-Sort out stuff for college tomorrow
    -Check out ebay listings
    -Pack up ebay sales
-List next lot of £30 vouchers
    -Check matched bets

-Check for free bets and if i have any, place another matched bet
    -Update spreadsheets
    -Update challenges
-Sort out next lot of financial papers and file away
    -Sort out emails
    -Do any surveys i receive
    -Do daily clicks

    -Look for mystery shops
    -List business on gumtree
-Look at how to list it on ebay, not sure how to do that one
-Look into the idea of hosting more pamper parties, think this could be a way forward for my business
-Work on case studies for ear candling course
-Do boring household jobs, because the house is looking a tip
    -Check online banking
-Try and put money in bookies, even if i have to phone up to put the money in!!
-Look for more preblended oils on ebay
-Look for new pair of trainers on ebay, i am selling the last set of gift vouchers so that i can afford to buy myself a decent pair off ebay!!
-Meals from storecupboard, he doesn't know it yet, but partner will be cooking tea tonight.
-Go on rowing machine for free exercise!

    -Upload shop and scanner
-Check on freecycle for free things

Think thats enough for me, if i remember anymore i will add them.

Have a great Sunday everyone, i may not be wearing anything sparkly but am sparkling inside!!

  • Good morning Sophiesmum and everyone else!

Won £10 on lottery last night.....thats a £10 dent in the pounds and pounds we've spent on it this year :D

    Heres my efforts today:

    * Make cakes so don't have to buy (Done)

    * Make cakes for Dad and Mum to say thanks for cheering me up yesterday (would normally buy bottle of wine but I have all makings of cakes in cupboard)

    * Drying clothes on airer

    * Will ebay some books etc later whilst listing is free

    * Buy nappies using Boots points

    * Make list of things to do this week (not exactly DFW but stops me from just mindlessly wandering the shops!)

    * Enter comps

Everyone have a lovely Sparkly Sunday!:T

    Miss P
    xx
