Not really, it just seems so disproportionate (sp). The BF seemed designed to lock you in for the long run to break even

With their offer I was saving £300 p/year if I paid the £1299 up front...that's 4.3 years before break even. Maybe they thought I was daft

Well I waited and waited and then on the day the Lehman Bros collapse was announced I signed up for a deal there and then. I figured that it could only be bad news for mortgage products.
